Students may elect up to 12 credit hours of Independent Research and Study (BCH-490).
In the senior year, students are required to take the Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry Advanced Test of the Graduate Record Examination or the Dental or Medical Aptitude Test. Scores must be submitted to the department chairperson.
There is also a Departmental Honors Program
The Biochemistry Major is interdisciplinary in nature. Its offerings and operations are overseen by a committee comprised of members of the Biology and Chemistry Departments and administered by the chair of the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Physics.
