Acquisition time

The time during which the signal is actually being recorded is called the acquisition time. This parameter set by a combination of the spectral window and the number of digitized data points requested. It is important that the acquisition time be set long enough to encompass the entire signal, in order to avoid truncation errors in the x-direction, as shown below; these lead to baseline distortions in the final spectrum:
