PREPARING YOUR SAMPLE
Why is it helpful to know something about the structure of my sample?
If you were already sure of the exact structure of your compound, you probably wouldn't need to run its NMR spectrum! However, it is usually helpful to have some idea of what to expect during the sample-preparation, data-acquisition, and interpretation phases of an NMR experiment. Such knowledge aids in selection of a suitable solvent, decisions about the experimental parameters, and analysis of the resulting spectrum.
